Charles A. Ellis, LL.B. (Also of the NB Bar)
Charles A. Ellis – was educated in Springhill and attended Dalhousie University from which he received his B.A. in 1977. He attended Dalhousie Law School from which he received his LLB in 1980. He was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1980 and to the New Brunswick Bar in 1986.

Charles is an Assistant Crown Attorney. His preferred areas of practice are: Family Law, Real Estate Law, Wills, Estates and Corporate Commercial.

Charles is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, Canadian Bar Association and the Cumberland Barristers’ Association and has held all Executive positions within that organization.

Charles is a member and Past-President of the Springhill Rotary Club. He is Past-president of the Junction Road Elementary Home & School Association. Charles is very active with minor hockey and soccer serving as a coach with various teams.

 
   
David W. McNarin
Dave McNairn, LL.B.
Dave McNairn – was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia. He received his Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2000 and his LLB from the University of New Brunswick in 2003. In May 2003 he moved to Halifax where he articled with one of Atlantic Canada’s largest firms. After being called to the Nova Scotia bar in June 2004, he returned home to Cumberland County to pursue a legal career with Hicks, LeMoine. His preferred areas of practice include: Civil Litigation (Personal Injury, Insurance and Disability Claims), Corporate/Commercial, Property law and Criminal law.

Dave is the President of the Cumberland County Barristers’ Association, Vice President and Director of the Amherst and Area Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Young Lawyers Group in the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association, a member of Rotary, an active volunteer with the Nova Scotia Liberal Party as well as Ducks Unlimited. Dave has also served on the Committee established to review the proposed closure of the River Hebert District High School.

 
   
 
Morris J. Haugg, Q.C., Senior Counsel
Morris J. Haugg – has practiced law with the firm since 1970. He was a partner from 1972 until 2006. He now works three days a week as Senior Counsel to the firm. He is confining his practice to Estate Planning, Trusts and Probate work, as well as Real Estate transactions.

In addition to the practice of law, Morris lectured in Commercial Law at Mount Allison for 22 years. He acted as a Small Claims Court Adjudicator for 10 years, as well as Secretary and Chair of the Environmental Control Council of Nova Scotia.

One of Morris’ passions is community service. He has received several awards, and recognitions, including the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. He has been active in organizations, commissions and committees, too numerous to set forth, although his membership in and service through the Rotary Club of Amherst for close to 40 years require mention.
